How to Get a Flat Stomach – The Power of Goals & a Vision Board
So what am I talking about. Firstly write EVERYTHING down. Decide on your goal. How much weight do you really want to lose? How badly do you want to get a flat stomach? How fit and slim do you want to look? Write it down.
Secondly, keep a food & mood diary. Write down everything that you eat and note how you felt at the time. You don\’t have to let anyone read it but it will make you accountable to yourself and it will make you realise if and when you slip and start nibbling. Make friends with food and learn to have a healthy relationship with it. Many people are unsuccessful at dieting and Weight Loss because they have a constant love hate relationship with their bodies and food. They become a slave to food and it begins to control them. By using a food diary, it can will help you regain control over your life and record what you eat. You may get a surprise at how much you actually do eat, why and when you eat it. Knowing that you have to write it down can even make you stop in your tracks and not nobble that nibble.
Eat food that you like and learn to enjoy it. I spent many years trying to lose weight and trying to get a flat stomach.
I finally engaged the help of a personal trainer who showed me some simple exercises and techniques to help me lose weight without dieting. She said that once I got it into my head that I was on a diet, I was immediately on a losing streak. Even the word \”diet\” can strike fear into the hearts of all. It implies one lettuce leaf, constant hunger, constant cravings and misery.
Identify your goals, use a vision board. Get pictures of the way you would like to look and stick them on the wall, the fridge or a special notice board. Only use images that inspire you and only eat foods that inspire you. Surround yourself with people that motivate and inspire you and look the way you want to look. This does not mean being shallow but it means surrounding yourself with like minded people that will help you raise your game and achieve the goals that you want including how to get a flat stomach.
Also use your diary to count what you do. Do everything a little bit faster (well except driving). Walk faster, run faster. Set yourself a sense of urgency. After all, you have an immediate goal – GET A FLAT STOMACH!. Writing things down will help you keep on track.
Research has shown that people who log their exercise routine are more likely to stick to it as you can monitor your progress. Remember, count everything, everything counts.
